Just a comment about Ninja Burger: go to Steve Jackson Games and look at the original NB games. I owned the original (lost in a flood), and it was far more fun and coherent than what you describe. The core book came with full rules, enemies, adventures, and there were several expansions. I don't know why they'd change it, but it was a fast, fun, easy game -- good for if you only had an hour or so to play. This new version you describe sounds like crap compared to the original system.

I would note that we were not discussing Ninja Burger, but rather Pow, which as far as I can tell isn't the system they used.

There was an earlier Ninja Burger game, though; I forget the company name off the top of my head, but it was the same guys who did Kobolds Ate My Baby.

I'll definitely look into the SJG games at some point. I like Ninja Burger. :)
